Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Teaser Trailer Released

If you’ve read our retro review on the original Guardians of the Galaxy movie, you’ll know that we loved every minute of it… eventually. So you’ll not be surprised to hear that the OneDayRetro team was very, very excited last night when Marvel dropped its first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2.

Hooked on a Feeling That This is Going to be Awesome

Not content with just giving us a new poster, our first look at GotG2 reveals a few clues about what the team might be getting up to in their next intergalactic adventure, and more importantly, who with.

Along with Chris Pine’s Starlord, we see that the Guardians team appears to have joined forces with the sometimes-cool-sometimes-terrifying Yondu (the arrow whistling guy from the first Guardians of the Galaxy), as well as a quick glance at what looks like a captured Nebula, sister of Zoe Saldana’s Gamora. This seems to confirm that Nebula is part of the Guardians team now as well, although it remains to be seen whether she is a willing member or not.

Short but Sweet

At only one and a half minutes long, the teaser trailer certainly doesn’t give too much away about the plot of the Guardians sequel – but thankfully it seems that James Gunn has stuck to his winning formula of classic 80’s pop music, humour and action. All things that worked so well in the original, and we’re happy to see return!

Oh, and is it just us or is the spaceship corridor at the start of the trailer look very much like the Millennium Falcon?! I see what you’re doing there Disney, very sneaky…

Let us know if you’re excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, or if you’ve spotted something in the trailer we’ve missed!
